Figure and Portrait Studies

Each of these is a personal study with a focus on rendering the face. Ever since my early teens, I loved not only the emotion and expression of the face but also the beautiful color and tonal variation of the facial features. Painting people and faces may very well be my favorite kind of piece to do - there are stories behind the moment and people captured which will never be known, but what can be shared is the how light and atmosphere of that moment was seen and felt.
